Our Uniforms

All students are required to wear an approved school uniform Monday through Friday for the entire day.

    • All crested shirts may be either long- or short-sleeved polo shirts.

    • All shorts, dresses, and skirts may be no shorter than two inches above the knee. Please be cognizant of the length requirements when shopping.

    • No denim or cargo pants.

    • Students may wear JDS logo shirts and sweatshirts.

  • You can purchase crested tops from our online JDS Store or purchase them through Lands’ End.

You may buy bottoms at the vendor of your choice. Here are a few recommendations for buying skirts, pants, and shorts:

    French Toast

    Old Navy

    Target

    Gap Kids

    The Children’s Place

    Walmart

    Amazon

    JCPenney

We do not have new navy dresses yet, so please continue to purchase your dresses at Lands’ End.

If you choose to purchase through Lands’ End, our school code is 900034992.

  • You can purchase JDS crested uniform tops through the @JDSstore. They will be bulk ordered and customized by a local business.

We will open up orders 2 times/year during which you can order uniform shirts at jdslv.org/store. The orders will be open for one week each (summer and winter).

You’ll receive your shirts within 3 weeks of orders closing.

JDS will order a small inventory as well, so that you can still purchase new uniforms between online orders if you need additional shirts.

  • Monday through Thursday

Navy or khaki, flat front or pleated, uniform style pants, shorts, or skirts; navy polo shirt with white JDS crest; OR navy polo dress with white crest.

    Fridays and Special Occasions

Navy or khaki, flat front or pleated, uniform style pants, shorts, or skirts; white polo shirt with navy JDS crest.

  • All students must wear a white, crested shirt and dark bottoms for holidays, Fridays, and/or other events. Notification of special dress will be emailed in advance.

  • While in school, on school grounds, or on school field trips and school-related events, all male students are required to wear a kippah that is neat, clean, and does not bear any inappropriate words or symbols.

When outside for play and sports, appropriate head coverings other than a kippah may be worn. On field trips, head coverings appropriate to the event may be worn, subject to the discretion of the administration. Extra kippot should be sent to school and kept in a desk or book bag.

As a courtesy, the school office will issue a kippah to a child or visitor who needs one. It is recommended that kippot should not be recycled and should not be shared among students.

  • Sneakers must be worn for gym classes and are preferred on other days for playground safety.

Heels may not be higher than two inches.

Flip flops are not permitted for safety reasons.

  • Navy, uniform style cardigans or sweaters may be worn inside the school building. No crest is required on cardigans/sweaters, and they can be purchased at any vendor.

Coats and jackets: Any style or color permitted.

  • Sneakers must be worn on gym days.

  • Students are required to wear their regular school uniforms, even on field trips, unless otherwise specified.

  • Parents/guardians and visitors are requested to show sensitivity to the school’s dress code by entering the school facility wearing clothing that is modest and in compliance with the general rules.  In keeping with the Jewish Day School tradition, male visitors are asked to wear a kippah while in the school.
